Pelosi saving the world OR helping Republicans.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), god that gives me the creeps. In her latest round of beyond stupid remarks, she told Politico.com that she is
“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet,” she says impatiently when questioned. “I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”
“I respect the office that I hold,” she says. “And when you win the election, you win the majority, and what is the power of the speaker? To set the agenda, the power of recognition, and I am not giving the gavel away to anyone.”
I'm not sure I believe a thing any liberal says, but I think she believes what she says. I also think she is crazy. What she wants is to create such a bad economy that Sen. Obama looks like the knight on the white horse in Nov. I think she may have overplayed this hand though.
Although President Bush's approval numbers are around 30, the congress gets a whopping 17. That brings me to an actually old fact. Why do we have 2 candidates from congress when the numbers are so low? ANYWAY, I'm not sure Nancy Pelosi has noticed, but about 75% of all Americans would like drilling to start and now.
That brings me to another point. Isn't Pelosi for the "WILL OF THE PEOPLE?" see this. She beats up on Republicans in the Senate for continuing "to obstruct Democratic efforts to force a new direction in Iraq" and then will not allow ANY vote on changing energy policy FOR drilling anywhere.
Pelosi may be safe in her congrestional district, but if she continues to be the face *shiver* of the Democrats in the house, she will find her speakership a short one. My Prediction... 2 more years for her and she'll be in minority status.
I guess her stance is " let them eat ethanol."
