Oregon votes to punish 3% of taxpayers

This is really why all income tax should be flat. When I get into an argument with liberals about government they argue as to how unfair one situation is and how the government should help. They are always for a minority as long as they can have a VICTIM labeled next to them.

If 97% of the population voted against you, how would you feel? What would you do if all your neighbors decided that you are going to pay the neighborhood property taxes? I think I would move and I think the top 3% of the productive citizens of Oregon should move.

The vote was 54 -46 for a tax hike, but the only people paying higher taxes will be the top 3%.

Obama economy so good, 1.1 Million stop looking for jobs in Jan . 2010

At some point Democrats should take credit for our economy. Since they took control of the Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008 we have gone from under 5% unemployment to 10%. The Dow Jones is still off about 4000 points and now unemployment rates are dropping because people are GIVING UP!!!

What the HELL IS GOING ON!!!. Could we pay Congress and the President 2 trillion to just meet once (mandated in the Constitution) a stay home the rest of the year.

Anyone care to ask why Obama and the Dems beat the "to lower the debt we have to FIX health care" drum? I'll tell you why, we have almost $75 trillion dollars in unfunded Medicare liabilities. We need more people paying the government (being taxed) for health care even if they wouldn't see any "benefits" for 4 years.

Here the the big budget items:
$757 Billion on Medicare and Medicaid
$680 Billion on Social Security
$660 Billion on Defense
$388 Billion on the Interest on our Debt
$189 Billion on Federal Pensions
$20 Billion on Earmarks

Anyone feel like adding a new government program with a debt to GDP ratio of 87% ???

Motorist fined for blowing nose.... Read the story...

It reads like a Onion story.

Obama leads by example of why reading is so important...

Not sure which advisor to the President is in charge of teleprompter use, but he should be fired. I've been told how smart this guy is, but I have NEVER seen a President use a teleprompter to make a speech to 6ths graders.

OK... This is so silly looking how can anyone take him seriously from now on. Does he sleep with his teleprompter at night? Where does he go WITHOUT a teleprompter? This would be comedy if not for the 10% unemployment and a national debt that could destroy our country.

McCain/Feingold loses at 1st Amendment gains

The Supreme Court gave a boost to the 1st amendment today as it ruled that "There is no basis for the proposition that, in the political speech context, the government may impose restrictions on certain disfavored speakers," and "The government may regulate corporate speech through disclaimer and disclosure requirements, but it may not suppress that speech altogether." The left would have you believe that this will corporations buying congressman and women. I would suggest that one has little to do with the other. Corporations can buy congress by creating PAC's (political action committees) right now without breaking any laws. Congress can make any law and punish whatever business it wants and the business should lay down and take it? Businesses can't vote, so how else can they speak out against or for a congress person who is instep with that companies best interest?

Here is what the 1st amendment says:

Amendment I

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

It doesn't say only people or just voters or anything of the sort. If you owned a widget business, and congress may enact the "Outlaw all widget" Act, I think the workers at your business may want to keep the jobs they have and keep the business open.

This also would include Unions, so it's not all good...

Massachusetts goes from blue to Brown.

1 year after electing the most liberal President since FDR Massachusetts (LBJ was not elected) and months after Senator Edward Kennedy passed away, a Republican wins the senate seat. Making up a 30 point hole in the poles and winning by 5 in just over a month. For me personally this came out of nowhere, but after the senate passed a Trillion plus dollar health care destruction bill and the house rammed through a similarly ugly pyramid scheme I can't say I'm shocked. I'm guessing that after November the senate will look more 50/50 than 60/40.

The loss could end up being the best thing for some Democrats. Democrats in red or purple states may now have the political cover to NOT vote themselves out of office. While it's tempting to wish Democrats out of office I would rather our country not suffer through more Western European style government. I would actually like a good stalemate. I prefer NOTHING get done in Washington, because more laws often mean less freedom.

Coakley's campaign knocked down reporters, but didn't land a punch on Brown's campaign election night.

Do I have faith in Republicans to not snatch defeat from the jaws of victory??? No, Republicans can be just has willing to spend themselves out of office. I could really care less about the Republican party, but right now it's the only possible home of conservatism.

Is Scott Brown a conservative??? He is pro-abortion, strong on defense, talks fiscally responsible, pro-gun, pro-death penalty, wishy-washy on global warming, and against both government run health care and cap and trade.

Considering our choices.... I'll take it.

Thank You Massachusetts!!!
